  DRPS Investigator Discusses Fraud Issues On Rogers TV

A national award-winning detective will be taking calls regarding fraud issues on Wed. Mar. 21 on Rogers Television’s Talk Durham.

March is Fraud Prevention Month and DRPS Det. Jeff Caplan will discuss issues including ATM tampering, mail fraud, deceptive telemarketing and identity theft.

In 2009, Det. Caplan received the Canadian Banks’ Law Enforcement Award (CBLEA) for his work in shutting down an organized crime syndicate’s multi-million dollar card skimming operation. He also received the Law Enforcement Investigator of the Year Award in 2006 from the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IACFI) for his dedication to reducing fraud related crimes.

Fraud is a serious problem and Det. Caplan will also review ways residents can protect themselves and others from becoming victims.
