Two Important Safety Events this Weekend

May 23, 2012 11:39 ET

The DRPS will be hosting their annual Shredding Day with SUPER-SHRED and Bicycle Fun and Safety Day on Saturday May 26. We invite everyone to bring their friends and family to come out to learn about identity theft and bike safety.

The Shredding Day event helps to protect your personal information from thieves who could break into your home or go through your recycling. Citizens are encouraged to bring old receipts, paid invoices, expired insurance statements and other personal papers to see them shredded before your eyes.

Shredding Day will be held at the OLG Slots parking lot in Ajax, located on Audley and Kingston Roads. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Our second event is the Bicycle Fun and Safety Day. It is a fun and free event for kids of all ages who will get the chance to have their bikes inspected by an expert, learn how to properly wear a helmet and win great prizes. Kids are reminded to bring their own bike and helmet to the event.

It will be held at the Kids Safety Village, located on 1129 Athol Street in Whitby, Bicycle Fun and Safety day will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

We invite you all to come out and join us and we hope to see you there.
