Durham Regional Police Pipe Band Goes Three for Three

Jul 09, 2012 12:16 ET

The competition season is in full swing and DRP Pipes and Drums band is off to a strong start by blowing away the competition at its first three events.

After taking first in the 37th Annual Georgetown Highland Games, the band participated in their second competition of the year at the 75th Annual Embro Highland Games on June 1. They made their way to the top in the Grade Four event against six teams from across Ontario, bringing first place home once again.

They continued their winning streak on July 7 at the 13th Annual Kincardine Scottish Festival on July 7 against nine other bands. The competition proved to be stiff but their hard work and dedication paid off, making it three wins for the DRPPB.

Our pipes and drums team will be heading to the Cambridge Highland Games on July 21 for their next competition. Upcoming competitions for the remainder of the summer are:
Aug. 4 - Maxville, North American Championships
Aug. 11 - Fergus
Aug. 25 - Almonte
