The Holiday Spirit Is Alive In Whitby

Dec 21, 2012 08:00 ET

Officers at Central West Division were recently visited by three local girls spreading some holiday cheer.

The first girl, an eight- year- old, arrived at the station recently with cupcakes for the officers to say thank you for doing what they do to keep everyone safe. Her sentiment came in the wake of the tragic incident at the elementary school in Connecticut. She and her mom stated how much they appreciate what officers go through.

The next day two 11-year-old girls arrived at Central West Division with several gifts in hand. They had started their very own penny drive with the help of friends and neighbours. The girls were able to raise money to help them purchase gifts for the DRP Food and Toy Drive which they delivered to the station.

These three girls demonstrated the true holiday spirit by taking the time to make a difference in the lives of our officers and local families this season.
