  Arson Suspects Caught on Video

Durham Regional Police are asking the public to help identify two suspects wanted in connection with a series of fires in vacant houses on the federal airport lands in north Pickering.

A total of seven vacant houses have been destroyed by fire since 2006. As part of an ongoing police investigation, a security camera was installed in one of the houses and two suspects were captured on video.

Suspect #1 is described as a male, about 6’ tall, wearing a light winter jacket with hood up and dark pants.

Suspect #2 is described as a male, about 5’10” tall, wearing a light winter jacket with hood up, light-coloured pants, wearing a dark backpack.

Anyone with any information that might assist investigators is asked to contact the DRPS at 1-888-579-1520. The lead investigator is D/Cst. Wilson of the West Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at ext. 2527.

Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or on the website at www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca and tipsters are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
