  Beaverton Policing Centre‚Äôs Grand Opening

In a packed community room filled with local dignitaries, community representatives and residents of Beaverton, the newest policing centre in the region officially opened on Monday, May 5th. The new storefront facility, located in downtown Beaverton, will provide citizens and businesses along the eastern shoreline of Lake Simcoe with easier access to police services.

Regional Chair Roger Anderson, Brock Township Mayor Terry Clayton, Police Services Board Chair Bob Boychyn, Chief Kevin McAlpine, Deputy Chief Chuck Mercier and North Durham CPO Inspector Jim Douglass attended the ceremonies and officially opened the 1,700 sq.ft. facility. DRPS is leasing the building from the Township of Brock and a portion of the facility is sub-leased for use by a Probation and Parole Officer.

A permanent part-time schedule of police office hours will soon be announced. Constable Dave Pugh of the North Durham Community Police Office is a 27-year police veteran and is currently assigned as Brock Township Constable.
