Members of DRP and 43 lucky youths recently spent three-day at a Tim Hortons’ camp enjoying the great outdoors.
Youths between the ages of 11 – 15 were selected by the Children’s Aid Society, Frontenac Youth Services, the John Howard Society and the Eastview Boys and Girls Club to participate in some great activities. The group went snowshoeing and tubing, tried out their archery skills and created some arts and crafts projects.
It was a great opportunity for our members and the kids to develop lasting relationships and for them to face new experiences with unwavering support.
The director of the camp admired the dedication of our members and was so impressed with our group they have increased the number of youths to 100 for next year.
Special thanks to Constables Terry Rayner, Angela Sitaram, TJ McBride, Pam Devine and DRP Youth Diversion Coordinator Kelly-Anne Dugas for dedicating their time to this endeavour.
