  Two Safety Events Happening Tonight

Durham Regional Police will be speaking at two public events tonight regarding keeping our kids safe, both on the streets and online.

The first is entitled “Protect your Child: the Use of Social Media, the Safe Way.” This is a joint event between DRPS and Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School Parent Council. Det. Randy Norton will be speaking about social media safety.

WHERE: Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School, 78 Glenabbey Drive, Courtice

WHEN: Tuesday, May 7, 2013

TIME: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The second event is a Parent-Police Coalition Team meeting with the topic of “Debunking the Stranger Danger Myth: Keeping Kids Safe.” DRPS officers will be in attendance. Pearl Rimer, Dip.C.S., M.E.S., Manager of Research and Training, BOOST Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention, will be speaking.
