Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Jun 25, 2013 09:04 ET

A team of men from DRPS, lead by Chief Ewles, donned red high heels and took a walk through historic downtown Bowmanville to raise money for Bethesda House, a shelter for abused women and their children. The event, called Walk a Mile in Her Shoes and held on June 22, also aimed to increase community awareness of domestic violence in Durham Region.

Men from across the Region collected donations then slapped on their stilettos and walked past the cheering crowd that gathered along the route on Highway 2. Deputy Chief Burns and Inspector Kleum of East Division were a part of the group from DRPS. The officers took it in stride, so to speak, and the red shoes even looked great with a uniform!

Ever wonder what size of lady's shoe the Chief would need? 14 wide!
