Pow Wow Celebrates First Nations on Scugog Island

Jul 22, 2013 12:16 ET

Members of the Durham Regional Police were proud to participate in the annual Pow Wow at the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations near Port Perry on Saturday July 20th.

About 80 members of our Youth In Policing summer student program were also on hand and enjoyed learning more about the Mississaugas and participate in the dancing with First Nations members, who came from across Ontario for the event.

North Division Inspector Mitch Colling and HR Director Lesley Ford were among several DRP members who attended and enjoyed the day.

The great food, friendship and sunny skies made the event a great success!
