Durham Regional Police will be taking part in a national campaign this long weekend to target bad driving habits on our roadways.
The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) –Traffic Committee has dubbed the weekend of October 11 to 14: Operation Impact. This Canada-wide campaign will be targeting the top four traffic killers: distracted driving, aggressive driving, seatbelt use and impaired driving.
This year, Operation Impact will be asking both police services and citizens to “Stay Focused.” Officers will be focusing on the driving habits that kill more Canadian citizens than anything else. Citizens are asked to stay focused on the task at hand while driving their vehicles and to plan ahead if you are consuming alcohol.
