Police are appealing to the public for their assistance in identifying a lone female suspect, wanted in connection with the theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, the 70-year-old victim had her wallet stolen from her purse while shopping at WalMart in Ajax. Within the hour, her Visa card was used for cash advance of $1,000, her TD bank card was used at a TD bank ATM for a withdrawal of $1,000, and her card was used at an Ajax Money Mart to purchase $1,200 in euros and US funds. The victim was defrauded of $3,200, all within an hour of having her wallet stolen.
The suspect is described as: female, possibly Asian, 40 - 45 years old, 5' 5", wearing a beige hat, white shirt and big sunglasses.
