Food and Toy Drive Gets a Big Boost from OPG - Darlington Nuclear

Dec 05, 2013 15:08 ET

The lobby of a building at OPG - Darlington looked like Santa's Workshop on Dec. 5, with donated toys and bikes on display. The 2013 DRPS Food and Toy Drive volunteers made their annual stop at the OPG location to pick up the very generous donations. More than $14,000 worth of items, including 28 bikes, will go to Durham families in need this holiday season.

Over the past few weeks members of the plant have been bringing in toys, as well as making monetary donations. Money collected was used to buy more gifts for the Food and Toy Drive.

DPS would like to thank OPG - Darlington, as well as all of those who have donated to this year's drive, for their gift-giving spirit!

If you would like to help out, please bring unwrapped toys or food to any police station in Durham Region, any fire hall in Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax or Clarington and to participating stores prior to Dec. 22nd.

Priority is always given to needy families in Durham Region. If your family is in need of food or toys this holiday season, please contact a local agency or church and they will see we get your information.

To contact a member of our Food and Toy Drive, please call (905) 721-2999.
Thank you again to those of you who have already generously donated to the Drive.
