About 10 senior officers with the Durham Regional Police Service rolled up their sleeves and served a special helping of Christmas dinner to about 80 friends and members of the Durham Boys and Girls Club.
The dinner took place Dec. 16th at the Northview Community Centre in Oshawa as the Durham Boys and Girls Club hosted its annual family Christmas party. There was lots of food, entertainment from a local school classical string quartet and even some exotic animals courtesy of a local business.
Organized by Inspector Bruce Townley, the DRPS paid for the meal and helped serve the special guests with generous portions of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberries and, of course, dessert. Chief Constable Mike Ewles helped serve the meal and chatted with dozens of citizens during the evening.
Meanwhile, our Food and Toy Drive continues to receive and deliver goods and has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of Durham Region.
