Let Durham Transit do the Driving New Year's Eve!

Dec 30, 2013 15:03 ET

Durham Region residents celebrating New Year's Eve are encouraged to start 2014 off on the right foot by taking advantage of free Durham Region Transit (DRT) service.

Residents are being asked to leave their cars at home and take advantage of free transit and extended service hours compliments of Durham Region Transit (DRT). The initiative is being sponsored by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and the Durham Regional Police Services Board.

All conventional DRT routes operating after 8 p.m. on Dec. 31st will be free and service will be extended on those routes until 2 a.m. on January 1, 2014.

Also, for the first time, specialized service customers can take advantage of free and extended New Year’s Eve service.
