A Slam Dunk with Special Olympics Ontario Athletes

Apr 16, 2014 08:21 ET

A team of basketball enthusiasts from Special Olympics Ontario invited some DRPS officers to join them as they closed off their season of courtside fun and competition. The officers, from East, Central East and Central West Divisions, came out to Maxwell Heights Secondary School last night ready to play.

DRPS won the tip off, but the Special Olympics athletes didn’t disappoint as they were the first to score. The game was all in good fun and friendly competition between the two groups. A big thank you to Csts. Marten Wind and Tim Wray for coordinating the officers and the officers who played: Csts. Dan Weiner, Ben Payne, Rob Parcells, Adam Sigman, Tim Wray and Ron Carquez, Det. Mark Sheridan and D/Cst. Brian Stewart for participating last night. An even bigger thank you goes out to the group at Special Olympics Ontario, who invited DRPS to play.
