DRPS Serve Smiles at McHappy Day

May 07, 2014 15:24 ET

In support of McHappy Day DRPS officers, including Chief Designate Paul Martin and Sergeant Emmanuel Iheme, volunteered their helping hands to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities and other local children’s charities.

Chief Designate Martin served customers their drive-thru orders with a smile, while Sergeant Iheme helped in the kitchen at the Ritson Road McDonald’s location in Oshawa. Members of Oshawa City Council, including Mayor John Henry, and the Oshawa Fire Services were also there to help. DRPS officers from other divisions lent a hand at various locations in Durham.

This year marks the 21st year of McHappy Day. One dollar from every Big Mac, Happy Meal or McCafé beverage sold is automatically donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities along with other monetary donations. Last year, more than $8 million was raised for a great cause.
