As National Road Safety Week winds down, one of the deadliest weekends on the roads in Ontario takes place - the Victoria Day long weekend.
The DRP would like to remind the citizens of Durham Region to stay safe and be responsible on our roadways this Victoria Day long weekend. Please slow down and pay full attention to changing road and weather conditions while behind the wheel.
Various initiatives were put into action this past week to educate the public about road safety. From school presentations to RIDE programs, DRP will continue implementing these initiatives this weekend with emphasis on the “Big 4 Killers”: impaired driving, seat-belt use, aggressive driving and distracted driving.
DRP will be out in full force across the region this long weekend. We would like to urge the public to be cautious when driving on roads, to plan ahead and to arrive alive.
