On behalf of all members of the Durham Regional Police Service, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to our policing family, and the family and friends, of the fallen New Brunswick RCMP officers.
Constables Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, Douglas James Larche and David Ross, tragically lost their lives following a shooting incident in Moncton, NB. Two more officers were wounded in the incident.
“This is a trying time for our members as we have lost three of our own and two more are hospitalized. I commend our members for their dedication and professionalism as they were able to stay focused on the task at hand and getting results throughout this ordeal, bringing this situation to a quick end. The work of our members was professional and effective. They deserve my utmost respect,” stated Assistant Commissioner Roger Brown, Commanding Officer of RCMP in New Brunswick.
It is a stark reminder of how dangerous a job policing can be and how officers put their lives on the line, each and every day, for the safety of the community.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officers during this tragic time.
