More than 100 bowlers including DRP members, youth, and citizens came out to support and raise money for ProAction Cops & Kids initiatives at Neb’s Fun World in Oshawa.
This year marks the fifth ProAction Cops & Kids bowling challenge. Twenty competitive teams were made up of DRPS units including North Division, Human Resources, IT, Legal Services, the Chief’s Staff and members of the community. The IT unit came out on top after receiving the highest score of the night. They also won against the Chief’s team and received the coveted ProAction Cops & Kids bowling challenge trophy, as well as a dinner donated by Avanti Trattoria.
“I would like to give a big thanks to everyone who came out to support our community youth programs,” said DRP Supt. Brain Osborne, ProAction Cops & Kids Liaison. “We raised a lot of money that will positively affect the lives of our youth.”
Funds were raised from lane sales and a silent auction. Neb’s Fun World donated the use of the facility for the evening and pizza was paid for by Ron Branton from All Seasons Contracting. The amount raised was approximately $13,500, which will go directly to ProAction Cops & Kids programs.
