Our Youth in Policing (YIP) students, along with several DRPS members, had a busy weekend as they attended the First Nation's Pow Wow on Scugog Island, participated in a charity car wash and even found time to pick up garbage along the Port Perry waterfront.
YIP students were dispersed along the water front doing their part to contribute to a cleaner community. The students also hosted a charity car wash at the Mississauga’s of Scugog Island First Nations. Students washed vehicles for several hours and raised $263 for their 'Build a Back Pack' initiative. The goal is to raise enough funds to purchase back packs and school supplies for students that need them.
The day ended with our YIP students attending the Annual Pow Wow at the Mississauga’s of Scugog Island First Nations fairgounds.
A special thank you to Fill-Up Fuels for their assistance, contributions and commitment to the Youth in Policing program.
