Officers Spread Some Holiday Cheer to Seniors

Dec 10, 2014 12:31 ET

Durham Regional Police officers joined residents of Glen Hill Strathaven Retirement Residence in Bowmanville on Tuesday, spreading cheer and serving treats.

Our fifth annual Seniors Christmas began this week with officers spending time with seniors in our region. Officers brought gifts and spent time chatting with residents of long-term care homes.

Students from Dr. Ross Tilley Public School entertained the residents with holiday tunes and a well-received version of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.

Many seniors are alone during the holidays and frontline DRP officers want to remind them they are valued and important members of our community.
