Local Business Gives Back To Our Youth

Oct 03, 2017 13:49 ET

Thanks to the generosity of Bowmanville business, Crock A Doodle pottery studio, local youth had the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity while celebrating the season.

For the month of December, a Constable has been running a program through ProAction Cops and Kids called Run for Me, Run for Us. The program focuses on healthy living and 12 youth from the community participate in physical training once a week. The goal is to involve youth in regular activity and encourage participation in adventure races and marathons throughout the GTA. In addition to this, the youth are educated on various health related topics.

Following one of their weekly runs, the youth were invited to participate in something special for the holidays. They attended Crock A Doodle, a pottery studio located in Bowmanville, where they picked a holiday ornament of their choice to decorate. The studio donated the ornaments and professionally glazed and kiln-fired each piece. The youth came away with a positive experience and a special ornament for the holiday.

A special thanks to the staff at Crock A Doodle for supporting youth in our community.

ProAction Cops & Kids, believe that establishing a positive relationship between cops and kids at risk will strengthen our community today and for the future. By funding programs that bring local cops and kids together, ProAction helps create an environment of mutual understanding and respect.
