Jan 30, 2015 08:31 ET

Chief Paul Martin met with Prime Minister Stephen Harper yesterday to discuss public safety issues and the upcoming federal public safety bill.

The Prime Minister was in Aurora meeting with Regional Police Chiefs to discuss common safety issues and the new anti-terror provisions in the new public safety bill. The bill is expected to give police agencies more power to remove terrorist-related websites, share sensitive information between agencies and enhance the powers of Intelligence agencies like CSIS.

Police Chiefs have been calling for changes that will enhance their ability to combat domestic terrorism and make information sharing easier regarding anti-terror investigations.
