  DRPS Volunteers Recognized

Feb 12, 2015 09:09 ET

Three members of the community were recently presented with the DRPS Volunteer of the Year Award by Chief Paul Martin. Craig Nicoll and Clay and Penny Harnum were presented with the award at Regional Headquarters in Whitby.

Members of Community Safety, Constables Paul Hawrychuk and Corey Walsh were also on hand as these members were recognized for the generous amount of time they have dedicated to the Durham Regional Police Service.

Craig has been a volunteer with the DRPS for the past 11 years. He volunteers throughout the year at numerous events, including doing administrative duties for the Road Watch Program. During the Food and Toy Drive, Craig also enlists the help of his wife and son during the days he volunteers for the drive.

Clay and Penny have been volunteers for the last four years. They are retired members of Ontario Power Generation and strong supporters of the DRPS. Together they volunteer throughout the year at numerous events as well. This dynamic duo easily donates more than 40 hours a week during the Food and Toy Drive.

We would like to thank these members and every dedicated volunteer who donates time to community initiatives with DRPS.
