K-9 Calendar raised $27,000 For Local Agencies

Mar 23, 2015 09:56 ET

Thanks to the generosity of community members and agencies across Durham Region and beyond, two local agencies will benefit from proceeds from our 2015 K-9 Calendar.

During a presentation at the Police Services Board this morning, Supt. Greg Mills, Insp. Charlie Green, D/Cst. Jim Stephenson, former DRP civilian Susan Gibbs and the DRPS K-9 team presented The Animal Guardian Society (TAGS) and the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region with proceeds from the calendar.

During the 2015 season, members of the K-9 Team and DRPS volunteered their time to sell the calendars at community events. Many local residents and companies also agreed to promote the calendars at their business locations and organizations. Over $27,000 was raised from calendar sales, which was shared by the two agencies.

Thanks to everyone who took part in this initiative and donated to these great causes. Watch for our K-9 models as they grace the pages of our 2016 calendar this fall!
