  Welcoming Our Newest Members

Apr 05, 2015 08:03 ET

Our 15 new recruits attended graduation ceremonies at the Ontario Police College on April 2 as proud family members and friends cheered them on.

Police Chief Paul Martin and CAO Stan MacLellan attended the ceremony along with members of our Human Resources Unit and the Police Education & Innovation Centre (PEIC).

The day marked an important milestone in their progression as police officers. Our 15 new recruits will now continue their training and development as they prepare for life as a frontline police constable.

The OPC March Past & Review event is full of pomp and ceremony, including a Colour Guard, precision drills, an inspection by the OACP executive and an impressive march by over 240 graduating police officers who have been hired by police services from across Ontario.

DRPS Constable Jeremy Gabriel joined Katelyn Smyth of Peel Regional Police to deliver the valedictorian address. They congratulated their colleagues on their achievement and called on their classmates to be moral and ethical leaders both on the job and in their communities.
