Police Week 2015 A Great Success

May 13, 2015 11:00 ET

Police Week is underway and this year's theme is Discover Policing. Members of the community are encouraged to come out and explore the many facets of law enforcement and learn more about what our members do each day to keep our communities safe.

An annual event in Ontario, Police Week is dedicated to increasing crime prevention awareness and interacting with the community. The DRPS display will run from May 10 to May 16 at Regional Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, in Whitby, on the lower lever.

Police displays include crime prevention, recruiting information, Victim Services, Communications/911 and Neighbourhood Watch to name a few. Members from our Tactical Support Unit, K-9, Traffic Services and Auxiliary Unit are also dropping by, along with members of the OPP.

Police Week allows us to collaborate with our policing partners in Durham as well as provide the community with valuable information, says Community Services Cst. Paul Hawrychuk. We encourage everyone to stop by and discover policing this week.
