Construction timelines remain on track as work continues on Phase 1 of the new Clarington Police Complex located at Hwy 2 and Maple Grove Road in Bowmanville.
The new East Division and Forensic Investigation Facility are the first two buildings being constructed at the Complex, which is also bordered by Bloor Street.
As part of Phase 1, East Division will replace the existing location on Regional Road #57 just north of the Rickard Centre. The Forensic Investigation Facility will be a state of the art centralized location for the processing of evidence from crime scenes, victims and the accused. It will also include the E-Crimes Unit that analyzes information on computers and other data devices.
Work on the $40.6 million dollar project currently includes more than 50 contractor and trades staff on site daily completing roofing, glazing, electrical, mechanical, painting and millwork. Landscaping and paving will occur during the coming weeks.
The buildings are scheduled to open at the end of this year.
