Carrying the Torch in North Durham

Jun 16, 2015 11:57 ET

The North Durham leg of our annual Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario got off to a great start this morning at 9 a.m. as the kids from Beaverton Public School grabbed the flame and proudly carried it through the streets.

Next stop was Cannington, where staff and students from McCaskills Mills Public School participated.

The flame then made its way to Sunderland (Sunderland Public School). Next scheduled stops included Uxbridge (Quaker Village Public School) and Port Perry (R.H. Cornish Public School)

The DRPS would like to thank all students, teachers and parents who made this showing of community spirit possible!

Also, a special thank you to Community Living Durham North, CarQuest and Vos Independent for their continued support.
