The calendar officially launched at the Pickering Town Centre where Chief Paul Martin, Deputy Chris Fernandes, members of the K-9 Unit and representatives from Alzheimers Society Durham and The Animal Guardian Society (TAGS) came out in support of the initiative.

Our four-legged members adorn the pages of the 13-month calendar and all proceeds will support both Alzheimers Society Durham and TAGS. The members of our K-9 Unit selected the two charities based on their involvement with community members suffering from Alzheimers (our K-9 Unit is often called upon to search for missing persons dealing with this disease) and in appreciation of the work done by TAGS to help animals.

Thanks to the generosity of community members and agencies across Durham Region and beyond last year, over $27,000 was raised in support of these two organizations.

Police dogs have, and will continue to, prove themselves as invaluable members of the DRPS and we are once again pawsitively thankful for your support.
