  High Fives for Special Olympians

Nov 09, 2015 13:37 ET

Three officers from Central West Division attended the Abilities Centre today to cheer on the Special Olympics Ontario athletes who had come to compete at the Four Corners Track Qualifier. The athletes came from schools across Durham Region, including J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate, Henry Street High School and Port Perry High School. The winners today will qualify for Special Olympic track events in 2016.

The officers welcomed the athletes as the heads of the high-five squad that lined the ramp leading to the opening ceremonies.

S/Sgt. Vince D'Amico spoke to the group about trying their best, but of course having fun while they participate today. He thanked them for providing him with inspiration to have a positive attitude every day.
