Hundreds of residents joined North Division today for a fun (and food) -filled Community Safety Day.
Members from every Division were in attendance as well as those from specialty Unit such as K-9, Tactical, Fraud and Public Safety. Those in attendance enjoyed demonstrations from the Units and gained useful information about keeping themselves, their families and their properties safe.
Residents also enjoyed a display of vintage police cruisers, including ones that were in service during the 1970s and 1980s. They also could take a peek inside the Incident Command truck, TRV and DRPS helicopter Air1.
Other community safety partners were also on hand to speak to residents, including Fire and Animal Control.
North Division would like to that all the local sponsors who helped put together this great community event, including VOS' Independent for sponsoring the BBQ. As well, thank you to all the residents who came and donated food to "Cram a Cruiser" for local food banks.
