The Kids' Safety Village is alight with holiday cheer for families to enjoy. The first of four festive evenings was held tonight (and continue tomorrow, as well as Friday, November 25 and Saturday November 26) and there were many smiles from the visiting kids and adults alike.
The entire Village, which includes 26 miniature buildings and storefronts, has been decorated in the spirit of the season. Revelers can enjoy a free cup of hot chocolate from the Optimist Club, create festive decorations with Station Gallery volunteers, and meet members of Durham Regional Police in the police station and firefighters in the village fire hall. And appearing in the KSV church is the original Journey to Bethlehem display from Cullen Gardens and Miniature Village. Even Santa himself will be on hand to meet with kids.
The event is free to the public and held between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Donations to support the new KSV Fire Safety Smoke House Classroom project will be graciously accepted. Monday through Thursday the buildings will be lit for the public to walk through as well.
Special thanks to the Christmas at Kids' Safety Village lead partners, including Canadian Tire Whitby North, Vickery Electric, Whitby Hydro, CKDO, and community volunteers and sponsors.
