K-9 Calendar Raises Over $37,000 For Local Charities

Mar 09, 2017 10:41 ET

Members of the DRPS K-9 Unit joined three local charities Thursday to present them with the proceeds from the 2017 K-9 Calendar.

The presentation took place at the Durham Regional Police Services Board meeting in Whitby.

The K-9 team initiative, led by D/Constables Wes and Wayne King, raised $37, 340 in calendar sales and they were grateful to the community in Durham and around the world for supporting this year's initiative. The team also thanked Don Cherry and Ron MacLean for giving the calendar a shout out on Coaches Corner. This endorsement let to hundreds of online sales.

The funds will be divided among Alzheimer Society Durham Region, The Animal Guardian Society (TAGS) and Autism Ontario - Durham Region. Our K-9 Unit partners with these agencies on a regular basis and they were thrilled about this year's donation.

Watch for some great action shots featuring our K-9 models in our upcoming 2018 K-9 Calendar going on sale later this year!
