Striking Up Some Fun for Kids

Jun 09, 2017 11:16 ET

Thirty teams from DRPS and the community tried to stay out of the gutter at the ninth annual ProAction Cops & Kids bowling fundraiser in Oshawa.

The competitive spirit was alive at the event, with teams vying for the coveted trophy. In the end, Chief Martin's team lost to a crew from East Division. But the real winners are the kids who benefit from the programs funded by ProAction Cops & Kids: more than $12,000 was raised!

To add to the fun, teams dressed up in costumes, including a Grease team from Comms/911 and Beauty and the Beast from the Finance Department. Cst. Leea Wood gathered a team of students from Anderson Collegiate who went with a Scottish theme, complete with a bagpiper that played a tune after every strike.

Thank you to everyone who raised funds, provided sponsorship and donated prizes, as well as Neb's Fun World for donating the use of the facility.
