The DRPS Auxiliary Unit is currently accepting applications for new volunteer members.
Founded in 1977, the Auxiliary Unit is comprised of citizens who are interested in contributing to their community by providing support and working alongside the DRPS officers.
Auxiliary officers, upon the completion of basic training, assist police officers at local community initiatives, such as festivals, fairs or parades. They also help canvass neighborhoods and distribute information pamphlets.

- To work alongside members of the Durham Regional Police Service and the community
- To work with members who pride themselves on maintaining high standards
- To commit the necessary time and effort required to be an Auxiliary officer
- To be a volunteer
