Fifteen New Recruits Join The Ranks

Jul 28, 2017 13:05 ET

Our 15 new recruits attended graduation ceremonies at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer on July 27 to a huge crowd of family and friends showing their love and support.

Police Chief Paul Martin, Superintendent Todd Rollauer and HR Director Lesley Ford were among DRPS leaders who attended the ceremony, along with members of our Human Resources Unit and the Police Education and Innovation Centre (PEIC).

The OPC March Past and Review event is full of pomp and ceremony, including an Honour Guard, precision drills, an inspection by the OACP executive and an impressive march by several hundred graduating police officers who have been hired by police services from across Ontario.

The day marked an important milestone in their progression as police officers. Our 15 new recruits will continue their training and development in Durham Region as they prepare for life as frontline police constables. Once the second phase of training is successfully completed, the new recruits will participate in a graduation ceremony at Durham College/UOIT in Oshawa.

Congratulations to the graduates!
