Connecting with the Community at North Division

Sep 18, 2017 11:09 ET

It was a hot and sunny September afternoon for this year's annual North Division Community Safety Day.

Hundreds of families joined officers from North and specialty units, such as K-9, TAC and Marine, for a fun-filled day. Other community safety partners including Port Perry Fire, EMS and Neighbourhood Watch were also on hand. Those in attendance enjoyed demonstrations and gained useful information about keeping themselves, their families and their properties safe. Kids were also happy to spend some time in the bouncy castles and climbing on board DRPS motorcycles and ATVs.

Residents also enjoyed a display of vintage police cruisers, including ones that were in service during the 1970s and 1980s. They also could take a peek inside the Incident Command truck and TRV.

North Division would like to that all the local sponsors who helped put together this great community event, including VOS' Independent for sponsoring the BBQ. As well, thank you to all the residents who came and donated food for local food banks.
