Join DPRS members and volunteers at the Pickering Town Centre from November 6-10 for Crime Prevention Week.
With the theme "Building Safer Communities Together," crime prevention week highlights community safety and well-being as a shared responsibility throughout the community, including neighbours, private and public organizations, as well as local government officials.
This province-wide campaign is initiated each year by the Ontario Chiefs of Police (OACP) to help citizens better protect themselves from becoming victims.
DRPS members and volunteers are available to talk with and educate the public about personal safety, crime prevention and policing in general.
With information regarding crimes such as home security, cybercrime, thefts from vehicles and detecting fraudulent currency, the DRPS is hoping members of the community will utilize the tips and information offered.
The DRPS display is located in the upper level, above the food court outside Mastermind at the Pickering Town Centre during mall hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to come by and discuss any concerns and to pick up some informational brochures.
