$3,000 Worth of Toys Donated to DRPS Food and Toy Drive

Dec 12, 2017 08:58 ET

The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation (MSIFN) Donations Committee generously donated toys valued at $3,000 to the DRPS Food and Toy Drive on December 6. This incredible contribution will bring to smiles many local families receiving the gifts from our Food and Toy Drive this holiday season.

Over 100 volunteers are working throughout the Region picking up donated food and toys from community organizations and dropping off the goods to more than 100 agencies for distribution.

Formerly the Baagwating Community Association, the MSIFN Donations Committee is continuing the great work by helping organizations throughout Durham Region with charitable giving.

$331,500 was donated to 36 organizations including Grandview Kids, Boys and Girls Club Durham, the Abilities Centre and Feed the Need Durham.

Cst. Darryl Rice, Food and Toy Drive Co-ordinator, thanked the MSIFN Donations Committee for their big-hearts to include us as one of the organizations receiving the charitable donation. "I'm overcome with humbleness of your generosity," he said. "You and your generosity allow DRPS and the DRPS Food and Toy Drive to help so many in need. Thank you very much."
