'Tis the season of giving and once again OPG - Darlington Nuclear staff members have created a toy mountain, donating more than $18,000 worth of items, including 41 bicycles and helmets, electronics and, of course, lots of toys.
For 17 years OPG employees have supported thousands of families in all corners of the Region by generously contributing to DRP's Food and Toy Drive.
Over the last several weeks OPG employees have been bringing in toys and running fun challenges to raise funds which are used to purchase gifts.
Chief Paul Martin, Superintendent Todd Rollauer, Inspectors Bruce Townley and Steve Jones, Food & Toy Coordinator Cst. Daryl Rice and several officers were joined by DRPS volunteers to accept the donations.
On behalf of DRPS, Chief Martin thanked OPG staff for their kindness by giving so much to the greater community. Their gift-giving spirit represents the single largest donation to the drive this year.
Chief Martin noted that many families throughout Durham Region are in need of support from organizations and charities, such as the DRPS Food and Toy Drive.
New, unwrapped toys or non-perishable food items can be dropped off at any DRPS Division, Regional Headquarters and any Fire Station in Oshawa, Whitby, Clarington and Ajax by December 21.

A special thank you to OPG - Darlington staff for their generosity and thank you to those of you who have already generously donated to the drive!
