Former Scugog Township Mayor Doug Moffatt has been elected the new Chair of the Durham Regional Police Services Board.

The 66-year-old retired businessman and educator was a Regional Council representative on the Board during the last term. Although retired from municipal politics, he was recently appointed to the Board as Regional Council's community representative.

Gale Mossman, an Ajax businesswoman and community volunteer, was elected Vice Chair of the Board. She has served on the Board since May of 2002 as a provincial appointee. Ms. Mossman will also lead the Board's Governance Committee.

The Board also decided in its inaugural meeting of 2004 on Monday, January 12th to switch the meeting dates to the second Monday every month instead of the first Tuesday.
