  Members Honoured for Saving Lives

Durham Regional Police 911 call-takers were honoured Monday morning for their part in saving the lives of heart attack victims at the annual Lightning Bolt Awards at the Royal Ashburn Golf and Country Club in Whitby, Ontario.

Organized by the Base Hospital Advanced Life Support Program, the awards were presented June 14th to police, fire, and ambulance (EMS) personnel in the region who helped save the lives of victims of cardiac arrest during the past year. Many cardiac survivors were on hand at the ceremony to thank their rescuers in person.

Recipients of the award include 911 call takers Kerrey Sargent-Berentschot, Cyndy Young, Marla Finn, Gord Taschuk, Lisa Nash, Kristen Hunter, Shawn Muir, Shellie Taylor, Debbie Wakaluk, Sande Mackey, Janet Moreira, Debbie Wakaluk, Cindy Bowen, Norm Berk and AnnaMae Bleakley.
