Durham Regional Police 911 call-takers were honoured Jun. 20 for their part in saving the lives of heart attack victims at the annual Lightning Bolt Awards at the Royal Ashburn Golf and Country Club in Whitby, Ontario.
Organized by the Base Hospital Advanced Life Support Program, the awards were presented to police, fire, and ambulance (EMS) personnel in the region who helped save the lives of victims of cardiac arrest during the past year. Many cardiac survivors were at the ceremony to thank their rescuers in person.
Recipients of the award include 911 call-takers Terilyn Miller, Katie Bassett, Art Mullen, Pete Tomlin, Kate Mitchell, Tami Hartford, Stacie Temple, James Harvey, Rebecca Trimble, Sherri Wallace, Tracey Thompson, and Rebecca Astles.
