  Funeral Arrangements for Terry Ryan

An outpouring of sympathy and heartfelt condolences have been received at Headquarters and the Durham Regional Police Association office as the news of the tragic death of Association President Terry Ryan spreads throughout Canada.

Funeral arrangements have now been put in place by his family. Visitation will take place at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West in Oshawa on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. NO PARKING IS AVAILABLE AT THE FUNERAL HOME. All persons are requested to attend at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium, 99 Thornton Road South in Oshawa where shuttle buses will transport persons to and from the funeral home.

A police funeral with full honours has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 5th at 1:30 p.m. at Kingsview United Church, 505 Adelaide Avenue East in Oshawa. THERE IS NO PARKING AT THE CHURCH. All persons are requested to attend at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium, 99 Thornton Road South in Oshawa where shuttle buses will transport persons to the church. A tape recording of the funeral arrangements is available by calling (905) 721-4276.

Expressions of sympathy have been received from the RCMP, the OPP, the Police Association of Ontario, the Canadian Police Association, local politicians, labour groups, citizens, numerous police and emergency services and associations.
