  Ring in the New Year with a Free Ride Home

Durham Region residents celebrating New Year's Eve are encouraged to start 2018 on the right foot by ensuring our roadways are safe for everyone.

Residents are being asked to leave their cars at home and take advantage of free transit and extended service hours compliments of Durham Region Transit (DRT). Once again this initiative is sponsored by Ontario Power Generation and the Durham Regional Police Services Board.

Free service begins Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. for all operating DRT routes. For New Year's Eve, DRT routes will be running on the Sunday schedule with extended service.

If you plan to drink alcohol during your celebrations, please have a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or spend the night.

Police Records Checks
The Police Record Check and Processing Centre, located at Regional Headquarters, 605 Rossland Road East, in Whitby, will be closed to the public December 29 of 2017 and January 1, 2018. We will conduct regular business hours on December 28, 2017.
During these closures residents can still apply at any police division in Durham Region.

Collision Reporting Centre
The Collision Reporting Centre (CRC), located at 650 Rossland Road East in Whitby across from Regional Headquarters, will have the following modified hours:
Thursday, December 28 and Friday December 29: Regular hours (7:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m.)
Saturday, December 31: (10:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m.)
Sunday, December 31: 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m
Monday, January 1: Closed
Tuesday, January 2: Regular hours (7:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m.)
