  Student Summer Opportunities with DRPS

Mar 12, 2018 10:20 ET

Are you a student looking for an exciting summer experience? DRPS is offering several paid employment opportunities in many of our units along with our annual Youth in Policing initiative, which operates service-wide.

The unit-based opportunities give students an opportunity to develop employment skills in various departments across DRPS. Shifts are 8-hour-days beginning May 14, 2018 and ending August 24, 2018. Please visit the Career area of our website for full position descriptions here. The postings close on March 16, 2018. Please email any questions to recruiting@drps.ca.

The Youth In Policing Initiative is in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Child and Youth Services. Over the course of the program, students will engage in positive productive activities in a safe and healthy environment. This is a paid student position running for 8 weeks, 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The program starts July 3, 2018. Take a look at our Youth in Policing Video here.

The goal of the Youth In Policing Initiative is to inspire young people to look at the many different aspects of policing and to empower students to become ambassadors of change in Durham Region. Please visit the Career area of our website for student and team leader position descriptions here. The postings close on April 16, 2018. If you have any questions please email youthinpolicing@drps.ca.
