  Welcome To the Team PSD Klutch!

DRPS is proud to welcome its newest four-legged member, Police Service Dog (PSD) Klutch.

Klutch is a one-year-old Belgium Malinois who was born in raised in Canada. The Malinois is one of the quickest running, most athletic working breeds in the world. Klutch recently completed his basic training program and will join his handler D/Cst. Wes King on patrol. He is a general purpose dog trained in tracking, building searches, evidence recovery and suspect apprehension.

Klutch replaces K-9 Blitz who retires after serving 10 years with DRPS and D/Cst.Wes King. He is the K-9 Unit's second Malinois, the other being PSD Axel.

The Service has 10 specially trained dogs. Brock, Taz, Flex, Rogue, Klutch and Hawk are general-purpose dogs. Axel and Jett are specially trained to locate narcotics and weapons, Hemmi is an expert in explosive detection and Riot can detect human remains.
