  Help Identify This Theft Suspect

Nov 07, 2014 08:18 ET

On Friday January 13, 2012 at approximately 1:05 p.m. , a male committed theft at the Canadian Tire located at 1735 Pickering Parkway in Pickering.

The male entered the Canadian Tire and went straight to the automotive department and grabbed a Motomaster Illuminator worth $120. He placed the battery in the cart and then proceeded to the electrical department. There he grabbed six rolls of electrical wire, 75 ft long, 14 gauge, two strand. Each roll is worth $67. The male was captured on video which shows the electrical rolls inside Canadian Tire bags.

The male proceeded to the check out where he was stopped by the cashiers. He then stated that he needed to go to customer service. While there, he asked a question regarding automotive needs. The male placed the cart behind the cashiers as if they were paid for and followed the customer service person. The suspect returned to the carts and exited the store without paying or making efforts to pay for the merchandise.

An astute employee noticed the electrical wire display was empty and this would be unusual as they have a reorder point. The employee then alerted store management who reviewed the video surveillance and observed the theft. The value of the stolen goods is approximately $550.

No vehicle was observed on video.

The suspect is described as olive complexion, grey knitted toque, 5'10", 200 lbs, mid 40's and has a goatee.
